Learn Mechanical Ventilators

Simulate various conditions:

Pressure circuit waveforms on AC-PC vent mode depict two lines: PEEP (bottom line) and peak pressure (top line). Mean airway pressure can be derived by these two lines. Notice as you increase PEEP, the bottom line will also increase.
Flow waveforms display both the direction of flow and volume of flow. Notice how different pathologies (restrictive vs. obstructive) change the waveform of either inspiration or expiration.
This is the absolute level of volume relative to baseline that is in the circuit. Notice how volume waveforms change with both restrictive and obstructive processes.
pH | 7.35 | pCO2 | 46 | pO2 | 250
MAP: 70 || SpO2 98%
Respiratory RateRespiratory rate most significantly impacts your minute ventilation which ultimately changes your pCO2 levels.

Inspiratory Time
Inspiratory PressureInspiratory pressure is specific to AC-PC. It directly affects tidal volume more than any other vent setting. This is graphically represented by the difference between the base of the yellow line and the peak of the green line.
FiO2Inhaled oxygen does not normally affect the wave forms but notice that cranking up O2 levels can actually induce things such as the haldane effect, meaning more pCO2 become unbound by Hg and increasing the partial pressure amount.
